Items L. #2.
Summary
The design documents for the proposed elementary school #14 were approved by the board at the February 27, 2017 meeting. The administration has worked with the architect and staff to further the design of elementary school #14.
Claycomb will present the construction documents at the March 20, 2017 work session.
Rationale
In order to open elementary school #14 for the 2018-19 school year, the design process began before the passage of the bond. Elementary school #14 will be located on High Road. The construction documents will be provided to Bartlett Cocke, the district’s construction manager-at-risk, to bid the work in April 2017. Bartlett Cocke will provide the district with a guaranteed maximum price for board consideration at the May 2017 meeting.
This will allow the district to begin construction on elementary school #14 in June 2017 with an anticipated completion date of summer 2018.
Item L. #3.
Summary
In order to open HS #3 for the 2019-20 school year, the design process began before the passage of the bond. The high school location committee, which was a group of citizens impaneled by the Board of Trustees representing all geographical territories in the district, made a recommendation to the Board for the location high school #3 that was approved in March 2016.
HS#3 will be located on RR 967 next to Carpenter Hill Elementary School.
Rationale
The construction documents will be provided to Bartlett Cocke, the district’s construction manager-at-risk, to bid the work in April 2017. Bartlett Cocke will provide the district with a guaranteed maximum price for board consideration at the May 2017 meeting.
This will allow the district to begin construction on HS#3 in June 2017 with an anticipated completion date of summer 2019.
