Hays County Food Bank To Participate On Amplify Austin March 8-9

Ampify Austin is the annual area-wide day of online giving. This 24-hour time of giving provides an easy and fun way to give back to the nonprofits that mean so much to the community. Online donations are also amplified by incentive matching dollars from sponsors of the event. There are also hourly and grand prizes given out throughout the event to the participating nonprofits. This is the second year that the Hays County Food Bank is participating, and everyone is invited to help out.
The Hays County Food Bank’s goal is to raise $5,000. All funds will be used to support the ongoing operations of the Food Bank. There are 25,380 food insecure individuals in Hays County, with 9,250 of them being children. The Hays County Food Bank tries to reach every individual in need, but resources limit the reach. $5,000 could help to acquire a new cargo van to get food to more people in need by expanding the Food Bank fleet.
Donors are able to schedule their donation ahead of time, or they can wait until March 8th and donate anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on March 9th. Visit https://amplifyatx.ilivehereigivehere.org/haysfoodbank/overview to schedule your donation today or to start a fundraising campaign for the Food Bank. Donors are encouraged to have fun with this online fundraiser and perhaps issue a challenge with coworkers and/or friends. Everyone wins when you fundraise for a good cause!
The Hays County Food Bank will have an Amplify Austin Watch Party on March 9th at Texas Roadhouse in San Marcos from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Food Bank invites everyone to come out at that time and help reach the $5,000 goal. Staff will be there to direct people on how to donate on their own devices, or you can donate by using the Food Bank’s iPad. Texas Roadhouse has a happy hour of $1 off domestic drafts and $1 off Margaritas. Texas Roadhouse also has reduced prices on select appetizers as well as their ‘Wild West Wednesday’ Dinner special of $10.99 for an 11 oz. USDA Choice Sirloin Dinner with two made-from-scratch sides. Just look for the Hays County Food Bank table to donate online, and then enjoy a delicious dinner with your friends or family.
