High Tech Activities Just for Tweens!

Don’t miss Awesome Activities at the library this summer! For ages 7 – 12, Awesome Activities encourages children to explore the arts and sciences in hands-on workshops with professional mentors. On Friday, July 1 at 2 p.m., “Awesome Tech” introduces kids to cutting-edge ideas with tech-inspired activities. On Friday, July 8 at 2 p.m., “MakerPlay” with the Texas State University M.A.K.E. Lab brings high-tech concepts to life with projects that kids can build themselves. Registration begins two weeks prior to each Awesome Activities event. Register for free by calling, going online, or dropping by the information desk.
Teen Creativity Club: Video Production

Teen Creative Club is a weekly meet-up with a focus on video production for ages 12 – 17 on Wednesdays in July from 2 to 4 p.m. at the San Marcos Public Library. Each week teens will explore different media in workshops with professional mentors, including screenwriting with writer Lora Gray, songwriting with musician Tracy Weinberg, and drawing story boards with filmmaker Jeffrey Garcia. The culmination of these weekly projects will be the debut of a unique video production at the library’s 2016 Summer Reading Program Finale Party on July 29 at 10:30 a.m. Supplies will be provided.
