Keep San Marcos Beautiful Spring Concerts Begin April 7

The City of San Marcos will host the Keep San Marcos Beautiful (KSMB) Spring Concert Series beginning Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Plaza Park stage, 401 E. Hopkins, located at the corner of CM Allen Parkway and Hopkins Street.

The concert series kicks off with Henry + the Invisibles; followed by Fire in the Pines, The Refrains, Alex Ruiz, Hell Camino, HalleyAnna Finlay, and Whistle and Fish.

The free concert series highlights an array of musical talent, as well as a familyfriendly interactive sustainability area. “Keep San Marcos Beautiful encourages residents to live sustainably by emphasizing recycling and composting, growing their own food, using alternative forms of transportation, and conserving water and energy,” said Amy Kirwin, Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager. “Most of this is done through educating and engaging our citizens. What better way to achieve this than by bringing people of all ages together at a live music event?”

The sustainability area will feature a different theme each week.

April 7: Resource Recovery/Food

April 14: Transportation

April 21: Earth Day

April 28: Water/Energy

Pre-concert booths open at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at approximately 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the free concert. In Plaza Park, responsible use of alcohol is allowed at this event for those over age 21. Under park rules, Styrofoam, glass, and smoking are not permitted.

The KSMB concert series will continue every Thursday evening through April 28. Acts for the spring season include:

April 7: Henry + the Invisibles

April 14: Fire in the Pines with The Refrains

April 21: Alex Ruiz with Hell Camino

April 28: HalleyAnna Finlay with Whistle and Fish

This event is made possible by support from our generous sponsors: Mobile Phone Geeks, The Root Cellar Café, Texas Disposal Systems, The Hitch: A Mobile Eatery, Carson Properties, Classic Tattoo, Patio Dolcetto, Ault & Ault Orthodontics, Full Circle Salon, and Mensor.
