Small Fire Prompts Evacuation At Logan’s Roadhouse

No Injuries or Major Damage

A small fire on the roof of the Logan’s Roadhouse in San Marcos prompted an evacuation of the restaurant during the Wednesday lunch hour. There were no injuries, and damage to the building was minor.

San Marcos firefighters were called to the restaurant, located at 1141 IH-35 frontage road, at 12:24 p.m. after a restaurant manager saw smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Firefighters arrived at 12:26 p.m. and extinguished the fire at 12:50 p.m.

Officials estimate that 20 patrons were evacuated from the building.

The San Marcos Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. Contractors had been working on the roof that day and had asked the store manager to borrow a fire extinguisher at around noon.

The contractors had left the work area before the fire was reported.
