UPDATE: Kyle PD Investigating Hit And Run

Kyle, TX – Kyle police received a call for service at approximately 11:46 a.m. on May 27 regarding a white male lying in the grass near the Interstate 35 West Frontage Road close to mile marker 212.

Officers responded and located a deceased adult male; the deceased has been identified as John William Lyon, 53.

Investigators believe the individual was riding a bike and was the victim of a hit and run crash. Police said the vehicle involved fled the scene.

Hays County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith completed her inquest and ordered an autopsy. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Lt. Andre Marmolejo said the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a charcoal gray Kia vehicle.

The automobile will have damage on its front passenger side bumper and will be missing the passenger side mirror. Anyone with information related to this incident should call the Kyle Police Department at 512-268-3232.
