Update:
Authorities continue to search for the vehicle that killed a Kyle teenager Monday, Dec. 26.
Michael Mince, 15, and two friends were walking on FM 2001 when Mince was struck from behind by a vehicle. Nearby residents heard the crash and called 911. The Texas Department of Public Safety believe the vehicle to have been a Dodge Ram 3500 dually pick-up; DPS said it appears to be a red work truck with a welder in the back and possible minor damages on the right side. It could also be missing the passenger side mirror.
A balloon will be released today, Dec. 30, at 4 pm at Gregg-Clarke Park in Kyle in Mince’s memory.
The Texas Department of Transportation said they will be working with Hays County to improve safety on FM 2001.
