Work to construct an intersection between the new SH 45SW expressway and FM 1626 is getting underway. To accommodate construction, crews will need to reduce FM 1626 to one lane in each direction between Lewis Lane and Bliss Spillar Road.

The lane reduction will also involve shifting traffic on northbound FM 1626 to the left just north of Lewis Lane. Drivers should remain alert while in the construction zone and be prepared for the traffic shift and lane reduction.

The lane closure is not expected to cause any significant travel delays for drivers. The closure is expected to begin the weekend of February 10th and be in place for roughly four months.

SH 45SW is an innovative environmentally sensitive 3.5-mile toll road being constructed between State Loop 1 (MoPac) and FM 1626 that includes extensive water quality protection measures and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Construction of the project commenced in November 2016 and is expected to be completed in 2019. More information about the project can be found at www.sh45sw.com
