This Week’s U.S. 183 Road Construction, Closures You Need To Know About

• Road Construction Projects You Need To Know About •

 

  • Friday (2/9) and Tuesday (2/13) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Technicenter Drive and 51st Street.

 

  • Friday (2/9) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane between Manor/Springdale Road and US 290.

 

  • Sunday (2/11) from 6 pm to 6 am, the northbound US 183 frontage road will be reduced to one lane between Purple Sage Drive and Manor/Springdale Road. Manor/Springdale Road will be reduced to one lane under US 183 in both directions. The northbound to southbound U-turn at Manor/Springdale Road will be closed.

 

  • Monday through Friday (2/12-16) from 8 am to 5 pm, Vargas Road will be reduced to one lane at US 183.

 

  • Monday (2/12) from 9 am to 3 pm, eastbound MLK Jr. Blvd will be reduced to one lane over US 183.

 

  • Monday and Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday (2/12-13, 15-17) from 8 pm to 6 am, southbound Airport Blvd will be closed between Levander Loop and US 183. Also, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed over the Colorado River. Traffic will detour over 7th Street.

 

  • Monday (2/12) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Thompson Lane to Bolm Road.

 

  • Monday (2/12) from 8 pm to 6 am, the eastbound US 290 flyover near Manor/Springdale Road will be closed. Exit Manor/Springdale Road and take the frontage road to the US 290 eastbound frontage road.

 

  • Monday (2/12) from 8 pm to 6 am, Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane between US 183 and Millrace Drive.

 

  • Tuesday (2/13) from 8 pm to 6 am, MLK Jr. Blvd will be reduced to one lane in each direction over US 183.

 

  • Tuesday and Wednesday (2/13-14) from 8 pm to 6 am, the northbound exit ramp to MLK Blvd will be closed. Traffic to detour by making a u-turn at 51st Street.

 

  • CONTINUOUSLY between Wednesday, February 14 at 9 am till Monday, February 19 at 9 am, the Bolm Road westbound and eastbound lanes will alternate full closures underneath US 183.

 

  • Wednesday (2/14) from 8 pm to 6 am, the northbound 5th/7th/Cesar Chavez Street ramp will be closed north of the Colorado River. Follow signed detour.

• COMING SOON •

A phased reconstruction of the US 183 and Loyola Lane intersection began in September 2017 and will continue through late 2018, weather permitting.

The next phase of construction will begin in early February 2018 and will include a long-term closure of the Loyola Lane crossing over US 183, as well as other impacts, noted in the attached alert.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
