League Of Women Voters Of Hays County To Hold 30th Annual Taste Of Texas Wine And Beer

To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the event, the League is featuring a variety of Texas wines and beers. Back by popular demand is the sparkling wine from McPherson Cellars!

Those that enjoy sampling a variety of Texas wines and local beers have an opportunity to join friends, primary candidates and community members at the 30th Annual League of Women Voters Taste of Texas Wine and Beer! Thursday, January 25th at the Quail Creek Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30p.m.

To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the event, the League is featuring a variety of Texas wines and beers.

Back by popular demand is the sparkling wine from McPherson Cellars (Lubbock)! Other offerings include Duchman Winery’s Trebbiano (Driftwood), Fall Creek Vineyard’s Chardonnay (Driftwood), an impressive meritage blend from Llano Estacado (West Texas), and Becker Vineyard’s Merlot (Stonewall).

Because local craft beers have become as popular as the Texas wines, an additional offering has been added.

From established breweries from around the local area will be Live Oak’s HefeWeizen (Austin), Slow Ride Pale Ale from Oasis Texas Brewing Company (Austin), Austin Amber from Independence Brewing Company (Austin), and Coffee Porter from Real Ale Brewery (Blanco).

In addition to the wine and beer tastings, there will be a silent auction featuring themed baskets as well as gift certificates for local goods and services.

Funds raised from this single, annual event support League of Women Voters of Hays County projects.

The League is well-known and appreciated for their non-partisan support of candidates and voters through county-wide debates, forums, Voters Guides, in addition to Vote 411, an online information source for voter information.

Tickets for the event are $20 and can be purchased from a League member, at the door on the night of the event, or online by visiting the website at lwvhaysco.com
