Non-Profit Still Providing Disaster Relief To 4 Counties Seeks Donations For Expected Damage from ‘Harvey’

“The BR3T is focused entirely on the four counties and all tax-deductible donations stay right here in our area to help the most badly affected survivors of natural disasters,” Hays County Emergency Management Coordinator Kharley Smith said.

The Blanco River Recovery Team (BR3T), formed after the devastating floods in Hays, Blanco, Guadalupe and Caldwell Counties in 2015, is continuing to assist some 60 area families affected by those floods while gearing up for anticipated issues caused by Hurricane Harvey in the same counties. So far more than 1,000 families have been assisted.

“The BR3T is focused entirely on the four counties and all tax-deductible donations stay right here in our area to help the most badly affected survivors of natural disasters,” Hays County Emergency Management Coordinator Kharley Smith said. “BR3T is here permanently, ready to assist, but funds are stretched, and any and all donations are appreciated.”

The BR3T provides housing, funds and labor to rebuild damaged houses, and furnishings for disaster survivors in need.
