Officials Identify San Marcos Man Killed In Small Plane Crash In Lakeway

A San Marcos man is dead after a private plane crashed in Lakeway, Texas, Wednesday afternoon, according to the Lakeway Police Department.

Kevin Wayne Henderson of San Marcos has been confirmed deceased by the Lakeway Police Department after he and another man were recovered from the wreckage of a small airplane earlier today.

LPD responded to a crash around 1:42 PM in the 3100 Block of Lakeway Boulevard near the end of the runway to Lakeway Airpark.

Two occupants were recovered from the wreck by bystanders, which included two off-duty fighters, and transported by StarFlight for treatment.

Henderson was transported to Baylor-Scott and White Medical Center in Lakeway; he later died from his injuries, according to police.

The second individual was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas and remains in critical condition. Officials have not released an identity as of yet.

Police currently do not know who was flying the plane or why the plane went down but said it was attempting to land at the time of the crash.
