UPDATE: Due to the forecast for this weekend, the bike lane striping has been rescheduled for Monday at 10 p.m.
Weather permitting, on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 3 a.m., North LBJ will be closed to traffic between San Antonio and Hopkins Streets for bike lane pavement marking.
Traffic on LBJ will be reduced to one lane from Hopkins to University for bike boxes to be painted at the intersections of LBJ at Hutchison and at University.
At the same time, crews will remove the remaining parking curb stops left in place with the change from back-in to head-in parking along LBJ.
The work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. Sunday.
The traffic improvements include bike boxes, bike lane striping and traffic signage. The new pavement markings will be bright green with white lettering.
Bike boxes are marked areas at the head of a traffic lane at intersections with signals that provide cyclists with a safe and visible way to get ahead of queuing traffic during a red light.
