Pedernales Electric Cooperative is now accepting applications for its Community Grants program. Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply until Oct. 1 at 5 p.m.
PEC’s Community Grants program awards grants up to $5,000 to organizations located within the PEC service area or in a community surrounded by its service area.
Grant funds can be used for qualified projects that include technology, capital improvements or equipment related to energy efficiency.
PEC Community Grants are made possible, in part, by cooperative members who participate in PEC’s Power of Change program.
Participants’ electric bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the combined funds are used to supplement PEC Community Grants and education contributions.
Members interested in supporting local nonprofits may enroll in Power of Change today via SmartHub, by phone, on their payment slip or by visiting a PEC district office. Members can find complete details at pec.coop/power-of-change.
Community Grants applications may be submitted by email or mail by Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. Full eligibility requirements and submission guidelines can be found at pec.coop/community-grants.
