San Marcos voters will choose two City Council members (Place 3 and Place 4) and vote on amendments to the City Charter.
Early voting for the Nov. 7, 2017, local and state elections begins today, Oct. 23, at designated early polling places.
Election Day will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated polling places.
Registered voters will need to bring photo identification to qualify to vote, but according to the Texas Secretary of State, if a voter does not possess an acceptable form of photo ID and the voter cannot obtain such ID due to a reasonable impediment, the voter may still cast a regular ballot by presenting a supporting form of ID and executing a Reasonable Impediment Declaration, noting the voter’s reasonable impediment to obtaining an acceptable form of photo ID, and stating that the voter is the same person as the person on the presented form of supporting form of ID.

Charter Amendments
The City of Buda adopted a home rule charter in November of 2007 establishing the council/manager form of government still in place today. A revised charter was approved in 2012. The Buda City Council has called for a City Charter Amendment election November 7, 2017 that will include 19 amendments. The following guide provides the proposed amendments ballot language, the charter language if approved, and the anticipated financial impact.
