The City of San Marcos will launch a disaster recovery housing program on May 15, 2017 to begin repairing and rebuilding flood damaged homes. Applicants will have until June 28 to apply to receive assistance.
The program is funded with a portion of the $25.08 million grant awarded to City of San Marcos from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG-DR program to assist qualified residents with rehabilitation or reconstruction of single family homes, or rental properties damaged in the 2015 floods.
$7.5 million is set aside for housing, the city will use the remaining funds on flood mitigation infrastructure projects, planning and administration of the grant.
The housing program is open to residents of owner-occupied and rental properties who meet the eligibility requirement defined below:

An application will be made available on the City’s Disaster Recovery website at www.smtxfloodrecovery.com/apply on May 15. The City will also hold a series of workshops to assist residents with the application process and explain the program. The workshops will be held on the following dates:
