This Week Buda City Council To Approve Human Services Grants

Buda City Council to discuss and possible approval of the Human Services Grants as part of the budget process. Recipients are required to submit quarterly reports before funds may be disbursed.

Buda City Council to discuss and possible approval of the Human Services Grants as part of the budget process. Recipients are required to submit quarterly reports before funds may be disbursed.

Chosen Recipients:

1. Buda United Methodist Church Food Bank — Provides food to families needing assistance; currently serves 431 households

  • FY 2016-2017 Award: $2,500             Quarterly Award: $625

2. Girls Empowerment Network (GEN) — Provides after school and workshop programs for girls transitioning from elementary to middle school

  • FY 2016-2017 Award:   $2,000           Quarterly Award: $500

3. Hays County Child Protective Board — Provides preservation care services to keep children with family members if possible

  • FY 2016-2017 Award: $1,500              Quarterly Award: $375

4. Hays County Early Childhood Intervention Homespun  —  Provides home services and special programs for children up to age three

  • FY 2016-2017 Award: $5,000              Quarterly Award: $1250

5. Hays County Food Bank  —  Provides food & services for citizens that need assistance

  • FY 2016-2017 Award: $2,500              Quarterly Award: $625

6. Onion Creek Senior Citizens  —  Provides various activities for seniors in the community

  • FY 2016-2017 Award: $7,000              Quarterly Award: $1750
