San Marcos Finance Director Leaves For New Role In Corpus Christi

Staff Reports

The San Marcos City Council approved an agreement with San Juanita Rosario Vela with an amount not-to-exceed amount of $75,000.00.

Existing Finance Director, Heather Hulbert gave her last presentation to council Tuesday night.

Hulbert is departing for a new role in Corpus Christi.

According to the agenda, the City of San Marcos entered into a contract for Interim Finance Director with Ms. San Juanita Rosario Vela on March 4, 2020, to serve in the role of Finance Director through the end of August 2020 for the amount of $49,999.

Staff determined that the contract term should be extended through September 15 and increased to a not-to-exceed amount of $75,000.00, which requires the City Council’s approval.

The item passed unanimously with the absence of Dr. Jocabed Marquez as part of the council’s consent agenda.

The council thanked Hulbert for her service with the city over the last 11 years and said that she would be missed by city officials and staff.
