San Marcos Police Arrest Three For Monday Night’s Shooting Of New Braunfels Man

San Marcos police responded to what was initially reported as an auto-pedestrian accident at the Laundry Basket, 1525 Aquarena Springs Drive…

A man, a woman, and a juvenile have been arrested and face charges related to the shooting death of a New Braunfels man during a drug deal.

Kyle R. Sample (DOB 03/04/1998) of Three Rivers and a 14-year-old juvenile were arrested June 20 and charged with capital murder. Nichole Marie Moore (DOB 07/25/1978) of Beeville, was also arrested and charged with endangering a child.

Police believe the three met the victim for a drug deal in San Marcos.

San Marcos police responded to what was initially reported as an auto-pedestrian accident at the Laundry Basket, 1525 Aquarena Springs Drive, at about 11:50 p.m. Monday and found Ryan Andrew Kincaid (DOB 05/26/1989) of New Braunfels shot once in the chest and run over by a car.

The first officer on scene attempted first aid. San Marcos EMS and San Marcos Firefighters relieved the officer, but were unable to revive Kincaid. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Jo Anne Prado.

Witnesses told police that Kincaid and the suspect were in the parking lot of the laundromat when he was shot. Witnesses say the suspects took Kincaid’s car and ran over him as he was driving out of the parking lot.

A patrol officer and K-9 unit found the car across the street unlocked and parked oddly at a nearby business. Officers found the three suspects early Tuesday morning on the grounds of the Super 8 Motel on the IH-35 access road.

None of the people involved in this incident are San Marcos residents. The incident has been turned over to the SMPD Criminal Investigation Division.

This is the second homicide of 2017.  On Feb. 9, 2017, Terrance Valentine II was shot during a drug deal at the Avenue Apartments, 1111 Avalon Ave.
