The Zumper Austin Metro Rental Report analyzed active listings in July across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $955 last month.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Austin, TX continued to rank as the most expensive city in the metro with rent at $1,190.
–Leander, TX saw rent grow $10 to $1,150 but remained the second priciest city.
–Cedar Park, TX moved up one spot to become third with rent at $1,090.
The Least Expensive
–San Marcos, TX rent grew $10 to $900 but continued to rank as the most affordable.
–Wells Branch, TX was second with one bedrooms priced at $910.
–Jollyville & Kyle, TX tied for third with prices both at $970.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Austin, TX had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 10.2%.
