San Marcos Weekly Road Construction And Traffic Update

Projects affecting San Marcos traffic August 2 – 8, 2015
 
127 E. HOPKINS: The Kissing Alley at 127 E. Hopkins will not be accessible to traffic on August 5, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the Texas Main Street Manager Training Program. City of San Marcos Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
 
PATTON BETWEEN KNOX AND WAVELL: All lanes in both directions will be closed for a culvert construction on July 27th through August 17, 2015. Street will be re-opened at end of construction time period. Smith Construction Company, 512.694.2552
 
LOOP ST: As part of the City’s new pavement management program to provide preventative maintenance to the City streets, mill and asphalt overlay maintenance will be starting on Hazelton St from Loop St. to Perkins St. and Alto from Loop St. to Viola Street on August 3, 2015. Project is scheduled to last 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your expense. City of San Marcos Street Dept., 512.393.8036
 
100 BLOCK BETWEEN JOWERS ACCESS & AQUARENA SPRINGS: All lanes in both directions will be closed for Texas State Commencements on August 7, 2015 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Texas State University Police Dept., 512.245.6272
 
SH 80 BETWEEN CHEATHAM & RIVER ROAD: West bound SH 80 will have alternating lane closures for paving on August 2 through August 6, 2015 starting at 5 a.m. daily. TxDOT/Angelbrothers Construction, 979-229-9518
 
300-400 BLOCK OF STAGECOACH TRAIL: One lane going west bound will be closed for construction of a new westbound lane on July 22, 2015 through Aug. 30, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cox Commercial Construction, 512.848.4446
 
OLD BASTROP RD: Crews will begin to stripe the pavement on Rattler Rd. to SH 123. The project will last approximately three weeks, weather permitting. No detours; traffic crews will use flaggers as needed. City of San Marcos Traffic Dept., 512.393.8036
 
TxDOT HUNTER ROAD (FM 2439) PROJECT: Two way traffic has been restored between Dixon and Bishop Street. Various lane closures will continue on Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street will through the Fall 2015 for road, bridge, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian improvements. HWY 80 FROM CLAREWOOD TO IH-35: TxDot is widening SH 80 from Clarewood to IH-35 to allow a second left lane for traffic traveling from SH 80 to South IH-35. Construction will last approximately three months, weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.924.1715
 
100 BLK WESTWOODS & 200 BLK OF TALBOT: Portions of West Woods Street and Talbot Street will be under construction, with alternating lane closures and one-way through traffic with flaggers present for the installation of sanitary sewer site utilities. Vehicles will still be able to access Woods Street garage and the Alkek parking garage during this phase of construction. All lanes will be fully open to traffic on Friday Aug. 14, 2015. 700-800 BLOCK OF N. LBJ DRIVE: Portions of the N. LBJ Bus loop will be under construction with one lane open into campus from Sessom onto N. LBJ Drive and one lane leaving campus on N. LBJ to Sessom. Vehicles will be able to access the Pleasant Street Garage as well as Pleasant Street. The project will be complete and lanes fully re-opened by July 31, 2015, weather permitting. NORTH LBJ AT YOUNGER: Younger will remain closed until the end of August 2015 in conjunction with the N. LBJ reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
 
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
 
1500 BLOCK N LBJ: One lane going north bound will be closed for lift station improvements on July 22, 2015 through April 21, 2016. Prota Construction, Inc. 787-528-3171
 
MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
 
NORTH LBJ: Until August of 2015. Reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Motorists will be detoured one way northbound on LBJ from Forest to Holland Streets and will use Chestnut as a southbound route during construction. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
