Updated FEMA Stats: More than $306 Million Flows to Texas Within Two Months

Federal dollars are flowing into Texas communities recovering from the May 4 through June 22 storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and floods.
To date, more than $306 million in federal grants, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans, and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) claims have been approved.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), partners in the state’s recovery, provide the following summary of disaster assistance efforts as of close of business July 29:
FEMA Registration Deadline: August 27
NFIP Claims Paid To Texans: $202.7 million
SBA low-interest disaster loans: $57.7 million
Housing, Other Needs grants: $45.8 million
FEMA Registrations: 31,034
Home Inspections Completed: 24,534
Disaster Survivor Assistance Team Visits: 48,223      
Twitter Followers On FEMA Region 6 Site: 11,266
Visits To Disaster Recovery Centers (fixed and mobile): 7,787
Volunteers: 5,000
Volunteer Hours Contributed To Disaster Recovery Activities: 52,000
National Flood Insurance Program Claims Closed To Date: 4,650
National Flood Insurance Center Hotline Calls Received From Texans: 3,941
Number Of Federal Workers In Texas Assisting With Disaster Recovery: 795
FEMA Billboards & Outdoor Electronic Signs: 264
Total Texas Counties Designated For Public Assistance: 91
Total Texas Counties Designated For Individual Assistance: 47
Mobile Registration Intake & Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers Opened: 24
Disaster Recovery Centers (fixed): 18

To register for assistance, Texans can apply online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585 for the speech and hearing-impaired.
