NEW ORLEANS – Texas State clinched a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament last weekend and ensured the fifth seed this past weekend with two wins at UT Arlington. Now the Bobcats are set for a 4 p.m. meeting against No. 4 Troy on Wednesday and will face either No. 1 UL Lafayette or No. 8 Arkansas State after that.
This tournament field marks the first time since 2010 that all eight seeds have .500 or better overall winning percentages from the regular season. For SBC Championship Central, click here.
The double-elimination tournament begins play on Wednesday, May 25 at 9 a.m. CST and will be conducted over five days culminating with the championship game on Sunday, May 29 at 1 p.m. CST. The first four games of the championship will be available via webstream on www.sunbeltsports.org. The remaining games, including Sunday’s championship, will be aired live on ESPN3 and will be available on the WatchESPN app.
Championship festivities get underway Tuesday night with Championship Family Night, a celebration of this season’s accomplishments both on and off the field for the student-athletes in attendance. There will be a home run derby, autograph session and much more for those in attendance.

The tournament will open on Wednesday with a 9 a.m. game between No. 3 Little Rock and No. 6 Georgia Southern. The No. 2/No. 7 matchup will be next with South Alabama facing UT Arlington at 12:30 p.m., then the Bobcats face off against Troy at 4 p.m. The final game of the day will be between No. 1 UT Arlington and No. 8 Arkansas State at 7:30 p.m.
