SMCISD – UIL Academic Team Recognized

The San Marcos CISD School Board recognized the San Marcos High School Academic UIL Team at the May 16 school board meeting for their achievements at this year’s district and region meets. The SMHS Academic UIL Team won a total of 12 medals and plaques for their accomplishments this spring.  These accomplishments included:

 

  • The Computer Science team of Liam McMains, J.D. Brown, and Silas Andrews winning a second consecutive District Championship and advancing to region,
  • Liam McMains individually placing 1st in Computer Science and advancing to region,
  • D. Brown individually placing 5th in Computer Science,
  • Silas Andrews individually placing 6th in the Computer Science,
  • Felix Aguon placing 3rd at district and 4th at region in Ready Writing,
  • Felix Aguon placing 4th in Spelling and Vocabulary,
  • Itzel Osornia placing 3rd in Editorial Writing and advancing to region, and
  • Julian Delarosa placing 5th in Calculator Applications.

 

The SMHS Academic UIL Team is coached by Donna Atkins, Keren Jackson, Vivek Agarwal, Marina Tijerina, Denise Ralph, Cassie Polasek, Sandie Soyars, Josh Aguilar, and Davy Holmes.
