Sheriff Gary Cutler is pleased to announce that his employees worked diligently during the past 12 months to pass the annual Texas Commission on Jail Standards inspection for 2018.
The Texas Commission on Jail Standards conducted their annual regulatory unannounced two-day inspection of the Hays County Jail and the Government Center holding facility October 9 and 10.
Upon completion of the inspection, TCJS Inspector Jennifer Shumake met collectively with County Commissioner Precinct 4 Ray Whisenant, Sheriff Cutler and Captain Julie Villalpando to officially inform them that the Hays County Jail had passed their annual jail inspection.
Furthermore, Schumake commended the Sheriff’s Office as a whole for doing an excellent job in regulatory compliance; especially in the maintenance of an aging jail facility that operates consistently at full capacity.
Inspector Schumake made specific congratulatory comments about the cleanliness of Hays County’s entire facility; especially the county jail laundry and professionalism displayed by all employees of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Cutler applauded the efforts of all of the Sheriff’s Office employees as it is a continual team effort to attain these regulatory accomplishments. Sheriff Cutler had these comments for his staff:
“I congratulate every one of you for jobs well done. Keep up the good work and know that our jail is considered by Texas Jail Standards to be a ‘Model’ facility. This means that other similar Texas Jails experiencing regulatory or management concerns are encouraged to visit Hays County for advice and to mentor or help them master the inspection process.”
Hays County Sheriff’s Office is expanding the jail facility to meet the growing demands of the Hays County community and look forward to the completion of the jail expansion in 2020.
