The Chi Omega chapter at Texas State University will hold its first Chili Cook-Off to benefit Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas.
The Texas State University’s chapter of Chi Omega will hold their chili cook-off at Sewell Park at 601 University Drive on Sunday, April 29 from 2:00PM – 5:00PM.
“Chi Omega and its members are always thrilled to help Make-A-Wish fulfill its mission,” said Maggie Fisher. “The funds we raise will help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses in the central and south Texas area.”
Chi Omega, the world’s largest women’s fraternal organization, selected Make-A-Wish as its national community service alliance in 2002. Since then, the organization has contributed over one million volunteer hours and raised over $20 million to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
“We truly value our alliance with Chi Omega,” said Jill Skinner, Chief Communications Officer of Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. “The organization’s enthusiasm for volunteer efforts and fundraising really helps us bring joy to wish kids and their families while they’re facing some very challenging times. Chi Omega members help make our mission possible.”
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and 33,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country.
Since 1984, Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas has granted more than 4,600 wishes to local children. For more information about Make-A-Wish CSTX, visit www.cstx.wish.org.
