The Bobcats are slated to showcase their nine returning players, while unveiling their seven newcomers.
SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State volleyball team is set to officially kickoff the 2017 season with the annual Meet the Cats event.
This year’s undertaking will be held Aug. 21 beginning at 5 p.m. inside Strahan Coliseum. The team will conduct a practice session followed by an intrasquad scrimmage.
The evening will conclude with an opportunity for fans to meet the team. Light refreshments will be served to patrons. Due to construction inside and around the arena, fans are being asked to enter through the Casey Building.

The nine familiar faces of the TXST volleyball program are Erin Hoppe, Jaliyah Bolden, Madison Daigle, Mattie Adams, Micah Dinwiddie, Marissa Kindred, Megan Porter, Sara Martin, and Konner Wood. The seven new to the team are Halee Brewer, Amy Pflughaupt, Caroline Cutbirth, Brooke Johnson, Morgan LoBue, Tyeranee Scott, and Effie Zielinski.

The event marks the final time Bobcat fans will be able to see the team in action before the season-opening Texas A&M tournament Aug. 25-26 in College Station, Texas.
Overall, the Texas State is slated to face three opponents from Power 5 Conferences and six foes that competed at the NCAA Championship a year ago.
TXST will open the home portion of the 2017 season with the annual Creeds & Crests Classic Sept. 7-9, which will feature teams from UTSA, SMU, UMass Lowell, and Houston Baptist.
All season tickets are general admission, and they are on sale now for $40. Special groups such as Bobcat Club donors, Texas State faculty and staff, recent alumni (2013-17) and T-Association members can receive a special discounted rate of $30 per season ticket.
Fans can renew their seats by logging into their online account at txstatebobcats.com/tickets, calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 512-245-2272, or by visiting the Athletic Ticket Office at Bobcat Stadium during normal business hours (M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.).
