The City Of San Marcos To Host State Of San Marcos For 2019

Staff Reports

The City of San Marcos recently announced it will host a State of San Marcos event on Wednesday, July 31, at 6 PM at the San Marcos Activity Center.

The event is a collaborative speaker session featuring Mayor Jane Hughson, San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Michael Cardona, and Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra. Speakers will address opportunities and challenges facing the community.

In April, the San Marcos Area Chamber Of Commerce hosted the annual State of the City luncheon where officials from the city and the school district discussed strategic initiatives and the impact of the city’s recent growth with community and business leaders as well as upcoming opportunities and challenges.

“We are experiencing transformational growth, unprecedented in our history as a community,” said Mayor Hughson. “The State of San Marcos event is a chance for all residents to learn more about our progress in the city, county and public schools.”

The State of San Marcos will be a free event and open to the public; residents will also be able to watch the event live-streamed on the city’s Facebook page.
