Trustees Approve Two Assistant Principals For Goodnight Middle School

On Monday, May 18, 2015, the San Marcos CISD School Board approved two assistant principals for Goodnight Middle School: Elizabeth Ross and Mark DeLeon. Both bring years of experience and training to the Goodnight administrative team consisting of Principal Steve Dow and Associate Principal Rose Pearson.

 

Elizabeth Ross has been a campus leader at Goodnight since August 2013.  She is an active Team Leader for the campus, and a member of the Campus Improvement Team, the AVID Site team, District Technology Committee, Data Team, Bring Your Own Device policy committee, a supervisor of student teachers, AVID Coordinator, Saturday School Coordinator, a homebound teacher, and a classroom teacher. Prior to joining Goodnight, Ross was a Language Arts teacher and a History and Reading Intervention teacher at Miller Middle School from  2009–2013. Ross earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M where she graduated Cum Laude and a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University in Austin with a 4.0 GPA.

 

Mark DeLeon returns to Goodnight where he was an assistant principal from 2009 – 2010. He has been serving as Assistant Principal of Canyon High School in Comal ISD from 2010 to the present. He has also been the assistant principal of Spring Branch Middle School in Comal ISD in 2008-2009, a Criminal Justice teacher at Ronald Reagan High School in North East ISD in 2004-2008, and was the Drug Prevention/School Safety Coordinator for Hays CISD in 2003-2004. Prior to entering the field of education, DeLeon was the Program Director for the Center for Safe Communities & Schools at Texas State University for three years and was a police officer in four Texas communities. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio, and a Master’s in Education from Texas State University with a 4.0 GPA.
