The City of San Marcos (City), in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), is proposing to improve Guadalupe Street from University Drive to Grove Street in Hays County, Texas.
The hearing will be held on June 24, 2019, at the San Marcos Recreation Hall, 170 Charles Austin Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666 and project displays will be available for viewing at 5:00 p.m. with the formal hearing starting at 6:00 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and to receive public comment on the proposed project.
Phase 1 of the Loop 82 (Guadalupe Street) Improvements project will include striping plans from University Drive to Grove Street including bike lanes and parking layout; sidewalk improvements along Guadalupe Street (east side) between MLK Drive and the Union Pacific railroad tracks; signal adjustment and/or improvements at intersections along Guadalupe Street to accommodate cyclists; and a Gateway sign at the Guadalupe Street/Grove Street intersection.
Guadalupe Street improvements are proposed within the existing ROW and as such no residential and/or nonresidential displacements are anticipated with this project.
Any environmental documentation or studies, maps showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at 630 E Hopkins Street, San Marcos, Texas 78666.
This information will also be available for inspection at the hearing. Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the project are requested and may be presented at the hearing, or submitted in person or by mail to the City of San Marcos CIP/Engineering Department, 630 E. Hopkins Street, San Marcos, Texas 78666, or emailed to EngInfo@sanmarcostx.gov.
Comments must be received on or before July 9, 2019, to be part of the official hearing record. The hearing will be conducted in English.
