TXST Round Rock Campus Receives 10-Year Accreditation

ROUND ROCK – The master’s degree program in nursing at Texas State University’s Round Rock Campus has been accredited for 10 years by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Board of Commissioners.

The accreditation is effective as of October 7, 2019, which is the first day of the program’s CCNE on-site evaluation. Texas State will next host an on-site evaluation in the fall of 2029.

“Our mission is to educate and prepare graduates to meet the mental and physical needs of diverse populations across the life span which has not changed since the inception of the School of Nursing in 2010,” said Marla Erbin-Roesemann, director of the St. David’s School of Nursing at Texas State. “The graduate programs allow us to expand the knowledge base of registered nurses to prepare them to practice in an advance practice role.”

The CCNE board determined that the program met all accreditation standards with no compliance concerns.

The St. David’s School of Nursing accepted its first cohort of students on Texas State’s Round Rock Campus in fall 2010.

The Master’s program began with the family nurse practitioner option in 2013.

Since then, the St. David’s School of Nursing has added leadership and administration, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and post-master’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner options.

St. David’s Foundation helped establish the nursing program with a $6 million gift in 2006. The Texas Legislature provided additional start-up funding.
