Three bodies were recovered Sunday morning from the scene of the fire that caused extensive damage at the Iconic Village and Vintage Pads apartments early Friday morning.
Justice of the Peace Maggie H. Moreno declared the victims deceased at the scene. They have been transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy and identification.
Search and recovery efforts will continue over the coming days. The BATF National Response Team, a resource available to local agencies dealing with fires of this magnitude, is leading the fire investigation in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the City of San Marcos Fire Marshal.
