UPDATED 10:38 P.M. – 2021 Hays County election results

HAYS COUNTY – It’s Election Day! The 2021 election polls have closed, and the results will be updated live by San Marcos Corridor News. We’ll be following the results and posting updates as they come in until all votes have been counted.

Residents of Hays County had the opportunity to vote for city council seats, school board seats, amendments to the city charter and state proclamations. 

Although election results are still unofficial, San Marcos City Council Candidate for Place 6 Jude Prather and City Council Place 5 Incumbent Mark Gleason have announced their victories.
 
In Wimberley, Andrea Justus is leading by 145 votes for WISD Trustee Place 1. Nathan Cross is ahead by 169 votes for WISD Trustee Place 2. Rob Campbell leads the race for WISD Place 3 by 398 votes.
 
In Woodcreek, Brent Pulley has pulled ahead by 38 votes for the city council at-large seat. Jeff Rasco has 60% of the vote for Mayor of Woodcreek.
 
In Kyle, Rick Koch is leading the race for City Council district 5. In the unofficial Buda election results, LaVonia Horne-Williams is leading in the race for Position 3 at-large with about 50% of the vote.
 
The voter turnout for the 2021 election was low, as of 10:38 p.m. only 18,259 or 11.8% of Hays County’s 156,297 registered voters to cast ballots between mail-in and in-person early voting.
