Veterans, Youth, Art 7 Live Music Focus Of This Third Thursday At Price Center

Each year 5th grade students interview a veteran in their lives and create an oral and visual profile on him/her. The 19 profiles are on display in the Center’s historic 1893 Room.

San Marcos, TX — The Price Center will honor veterans this Third Thursday from 6 to 9 PM with more than a dozen profiles of local veterans by 5th graders from Crockett and Hernandez Elementary Schools and a live musical performance by the Heart of Texas Chorus beginning at 6:45 PM.

Additionally, new art displays by San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District K-12 and Pre-K students along with the opening of a new show of interpretations of Fall and Winter Holiday Traditions are also among the highlights. As always, the event is free and open to all; light refreshments will be served.

Each year, 5th grade students interview a veteran in their lives and create an oral and visual profile on him/her. The 19 profiles are on display in the Center’s historic 1893 Room. Art from Pre-k through 12th grade students will be on display in the 1910 room.

The Center will also host an opening reception for the artists behind a new show of more than two dozen unusual and original works of art now on display through early January in the Tea Room.

The show features a variety of media, artists and subjects inspired by Fall and Winter Holiday traditions. Most of the works are for sale. A variety of local Pop-Up art vendors will also be present and selling art ideal for your seasonal gift giving.
