Wimberley Glassworks announced the date for their Gourdgeous Glass Pumpkin Patch and Festival in celebration of the fall season.
The annual event will take place on September 28 at the Wimberley Glass Studio. To kick off the festival, the studio is partnering with local schools in the San Marcos, Wimberley, Dripping Springs and Canyon Lake area for a monster design contest.
Students will be given the opportunity to draw their most imaginable monster on paper and submit their creations for a review.
During the festival, the winning design will be featured in a glassblowing contest where event attendees will be able to watch the custom monster come to life at 11 AM.
The custom monster will be donated to the participating school to enjoy for years to come after being on display at the glassworks through the month of October.
A second glassblowing demonstration will showcase an extra-large glass pumpkin at 2 PM.
The Gourdgeous Glass Pumpkin Patch and Festival will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM with live music from 12 PM to 3 PM.
The festival will include family fun activities, pretzel bar, fresh lemonade, coloring contest and colorful pop-up photo-ops as well as a glimpse at the annual Wimberley Glassworks Glass Pumpkin Patch.
