The Hays County Commissioners will be discussing and (possibly) approving several major issues this week.
With the recent controversy hanging over the last election and the new voting machines, the commissioners will be approving of new fees, polling locations and an early voting schedule for a Special Election to be held November 7, 2017.

• CONSENT ITEMS
9. Approval to award and execute all contract documents to S.I. Mechanical, LLC related to IFB 2017- B06 Countywide A/C and Heating Services. See Bid HERE.
11. Adopt the new election service fees. See New Fees HERE.
15. Authorize the installation of electrical infrastructure for the Jail and Public Safety Building Projects. (The City of San Marcos will design and build. The electrical infrastructure materials & labor will total $354,283.77.) See Quote/Bid HERE.
18. Discussion and possible action to approve selection of American Structurepoint, Inc. to provide schematic, environmental documentation and Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) services for the FM 3237 safety improvement project from FM 150 to RR 12. See additional information HERE.
• Summary: The FM 3237 safety improvement project from FM 150 to RR 12 is included in the 2016 Road Bond Program and is one of the highest priorities in Precinct 3 and in the County. Approval of American Structurepoint, Inc. for schematic, environmental documentation and PS&E services would position this important safety project to move quickly to construction and allow the County to seek additional construction funding through CAMPO and TxDOT. American Structurepoint, Inc. has been pre-qualified by Hays County for the requested services. The process to initially select an engineering consultant to negotiate a scope of work and fee proposal, with subsequent action by the Hays County Commissioners Court to approve the contract integrating the negotiated scope of work and fee proposal, follows the process set forth in the Hays County Purchasing Policy and Procedures Manual, revised May 30, 2017.
20. Discussion and possible action to consider the acceptance of bridge construction for the Onion Creek Bridge Improvements on Caliterra Parkway in Caliterra subd., Phase 1, Section 5, and acceptance of the maintenance bond #1034756MNT in the amount of $2,684,684.80 for a 2-year period.
23. Discussion and possible action to select the Prime Strategies, Inc./HNTB Corporation (PSI/HNTB) team as the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) for the Hays County 2016 Road Bond Program State Highway System projects; and to authorize staff and counsel to negotiate contract(s). 27. Discussion and possible action to adopt the Election Day Polling Places for the November 7, 2017, Constitutional Amendment Election. See proposed Poling Places HERE.
28. Discussion and possible action to adopt the Early Voting Schedule (Dates & times) for the November 7, 2017, Constitutional Amendment Election. See Early Voting Schedule HERE.
29. Discussion and possible action to authorize execution of an Interlocal Funding Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding between Hays County and the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District related to monitoring of groundwater within that district and amend the budget accordingly. 35. Executive Session pursuant to Sections 071 and 551.087 of the Texas Government Code: consultation with counsel and deliberation regarding economic development negotiations associated with Project Humpty Dumpty (Springtown).
