The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is still searching for a suspect in connection to a murder investigation that occurred in the early morning hours of May 9, 2022. The suspect, Ismael Miguel Barrientos-Gallegos (DOB: 08/23/1972) has warrants for the offenses of Murder and Aggravated Kidnapping with additional charges pending.
On May 8, 2022, at approximately 3:50 a.m, CCSO Deputies responded to the 100 block of Forister Ranch Dr. in Dale, Texas, for a report of an aggravated assault with a firearm. Deputies arrived on the scene and located one male victim, unconscious, with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The homicide victim was identified as 41-year-old Fabian Rocha, who succumbed to his injuries the next day.
The CCSO said the suspect is a violent felon and is armed and dangerous, and urges the public to use caution and call 911 if he is recognized. Barrientos-Gallegos is a known sex offender with a violent criminal history.
Agencies actively working on this case include the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office-Criminal Investigation Division, US Marshals Service, Texas Rangers, and the Caldwell County District Attorney’s-Criminal Investigator. The CCSO is requesting the assistance of the public in obtaining any information which results in the arrest of this wanted person.
The suspect Barrientos- Gallegos is 5’8″ and 185 pounds and has the tattoo “Gallegos”, on his abdomen and a large portrait of Jesus on his back. He can also be recognized by a scar on the right side of his head from his eyebrow to his hairline, and a mole on his right cheek.
Barrientos- Gallegos has several nown Alias including; Pedro Gallegos-Mercado, W/M, DOB: 05/15/1975, Michael Gallegos, Mario Gonzalez, Miguel Garcia, Ismael Ramirez, Daniel Garcia, Miguel Garcia, Miguel Ramirez.
The CCSO is asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information on Barrientos- Gallegos or his whereabouts to local authorities. Details on how to contact them can be found below.
