Hays County reports one COVID-related fatality; 48 additional recoveries

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one new COVID-related fatality, a man in his 30s from Buda. The department also reports 40 new lab-confirmed cases along with three (3) new hospitalizations and two (2) new hospital discharges. There are 48 additional persons considered recovered.

The total number of persons considered recovered is 28,157. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 29,194. Hays County has 652 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,090 active cases.

Hays County has had 1,327 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 20 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 18 (90%) are unvaccinated. During the weekly routine audit, 32 cases were removed from the total case count due to either being out of jurisdiction or duplicate entries.
