Gary Job Corps staff, students, and guests remember the sacrifices given by those on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, New York City, that terrorist took the lives of over 2,000 individuals.

The Remembrance Program started with a moment of silence followed by a prayer for peace by Moaaz Khan (Moslem) and Randolph Goodman (Christian).

Featured speakers sharing thoughts were Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett, Embassy Suites General manager Pablo Zuniga, Hays Constable David Peterson, Sgt. Stallings, UT2 McCown, Texas Border Patrolman and Gary Alumni, Steve Veloz, and Gary Center Director Patty Lankford.

The general theme shared by our speakers was that of Hope and the resilience of the American people to come together in this time of healing.

This year marked the 4th anniversary of the observance of “Patriot Day” held on the Gary Job Corps Center.
