ST. DAVID’S FOUNDATION AWARDS $20K GRANT TO LIVE OAK HEALTH PARTNERS COMMUNITY CLINIC

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – The Live Oak Health Partners (LOHP) Community Clinic recently received a $20,000 grant from the St. David’s Foundation. The money will be used to help unfunded patients receive needed medications and/or help purchase disposable medical supplies used to treat unfunded patients.

 

“We are very grateful to the St. David’s Foundation for their funding,” said LOHP Community Clinic Director Regina Henderson. “We will be able to supply medications and medical supplies to more than 100 patients.”

 

The LOHP Community Clinic serves the low-income, uninsured residents of Hays County who do not qualify for federal or state health assistance programs.

 

According to Henderson, the most common illnesses seen at the clinic are diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia – conditions that can be effectively managed through maintenance medications and monitoring supplies.

 

“We have found that many of our patients do not have the resources to purchase diabetes syringes, pen needles, glucometers, lancets, testing strips and blood pressure cuffs used to control and monitor these conditions,” Henderson said. “The funding will allow us to purchase these supplies for our patients, which will help them to better manage their health care.”
