Zumper’s July 2019 Rental Price Report: San Marcos Holds Steady With Cheapest Rent

The Zumper Austin Metro Report analyzed active listings in June 2019 across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $949 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

 

The Most Expensive

Austin, TX saw rent grow $10 to $1,190 but remain the priciest city in the metro.

Georgetown, TX was second with one bedrooms priced at $1,150.

Buda, TX moved up 2 spots to rank in the top 3 markets with rent growing $50 to $1,120.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos, TX rent climbed $10 to $890 but remained the most affordable.

Wells Branch, TX ranked as third with rent at $930.

Jollyville, TX remained the third least expensive city with rent at $970.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Buda, TX had the largest year over year rental growth rate, up 14.3%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Buda, TX also had the largest monthly growth rate, climbing 4.7%
