Justice Of The Peace Office 1-1 Moves To Government Center

The Hays County Commissioners Court Tuesday authorized the Office of the Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Place 1, under Judge Jo Anne Prado, to move from the Hays County Courthouse to the more spacious Government Center to work closely with the staff of Justice of the Peace Court Precinct 1, Place 2. The JP 1-2 office was left without a judge when Judge Margie H. Hernandez passed away April 30.  

This restructuring will give JP 1-2 staff the guidance needed to work toward passing an audit review and allow the Commissioners Court time to put together a committee to analyze the organization of the JP 1-2 Justice Court. The Commissioners Court will not consider filling the vacancy for judge in the JP1-2 Court until the committee presents its findings.
