Buda Public Library To Celebrate Texas Arbor Day With Two Events

The Buda Public Library is holding two upcoming events for Texas Arbor Day.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, there will be a tree care and planting virtual program from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Those interested must register at budalibrary.org.

And also on Nov. 7, the library will have a tree giveaway at the Buda Public Library from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Each family can pick up a free tree sapling provided by TreeFolks while supplies last.

Arbor Day is an annual observance across America celebrating the role trees play in people’s lives; local observances focus on activities that encourage tree planting and care.

In the U.S., most states celebrate arbor day during the month of April when spring has begun. However, in Texas, late April and early May often feel like summer with temperatures in the 80s and going nowhere but up as the year moves into June.

The cooler temperatures the state sees in November tend to be more favorable for helping trees establish themselves before having to face the Texas heat.
