TxDOT Mobilizes Crews In Preparation For Storm Landfall

“We remind drivers to obey all warning signs and watch for flooding on roadways. Don’t drive around barricades and remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”

Staff reports

On September 13, the Austin District of the Texas Department of Transportation mobilized 16 maintenance crew members and dispatched them to a staging site in San Antonio to help with storm cleanup efforts.

The mobilization is in preparation for a storm developing in the Gulf, which is now aiming for South Texas.

Crews are expected to be mobilized for the next four days and will deploy to the hardest hit areas once the storm makes landfall.

The equipment mobilized to help with cleanup and potential rescue efforts includes bucket trucks, skid steers, signal trucks and dump trucks.
