Hays County reports one COVID-related fatality; 521 active cases

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one COVID-related fatality: a man from Buda in his 30s. The Department also reports 36 new lab-confirmed cases along with two (2) new hospitalizations and one (1) new hospital discharge. There are 71 additional persons considered recovered.

The total number of persons considered recovered is 28,483. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 29,392. Hays County has 521 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 899 active cases. Hays County has had 1,333 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 18 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 13 (73%) are unvaccinated.

  • Coming Soon: M-F, Pfizer and Moderna drive-thru vaccine clinics offered by MD Diagnostics @ Old Walnut Springs School, 300 Sportsplex Dripping Springs, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
