Hays County reports one COVID-related fatality; 60 additional recoveries

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one COVID-related fatality: a Wimberley man in his 50s. The department also reports 37 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and two (2) new hospital discharges. There are 60 additional persons considered recovered.

The total number of persons considered recovered is 28,412. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 29,356. Hays County has 557 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 985 active cases. Hays County has had 1,331 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 17 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 13 (76%) are unvaccinated.

  • Coming Soon: M-F, Pfizer and Moderna drive-thru vaccine clinics offered by MD Diagnostics @ Old Walnut Springs School, 300 Sportsplex Dripping Springs, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
