Hays County reports three COVID-related fatalities; 381 additional recoveries

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports three COVID-related fatalities a woman from Kyle in her 40s, a woman from San Marcos in her 50s, and a man from San Marcos in his 70s.

The department also reports 128 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and five (5) new hospital discharges. There are 381 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 25,968.

The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,020. Hays County has 1,696 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,507 active cases. Hays County has had 1,271 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 44 people are currently hospitalized.  Of those, 38 are unvaccinated, which is about 86 percent.
