Hays County reports two COVID-related fatalities; 23 new lab-confirmed cases

HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two COVID-related fatalities: a San Marcos woman in her 60s and a San Marcos woman in her 50s.

The department also reports 23 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalizations and three (3) new hospital discharges. There are five (5) additional persons considered recovered.

The total number of persons considered recovered is 28,019. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 29,160. Hays County has 757 active cases.

In the past 21 days there have been 1,207 active cases. Hays County has had 1,324 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 24 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 23 (96%) are unvaccinated.
