Kyle, Texas To Host The ABA Elite 8

The ABA is a fast moving, high scoring league. The three-point shot and slam dunk competitions originated in the league.

The American Basketball Association proudly presents the Elite 8 Tournament in Kyle, TX, April 2nd – 7th. The best of the best will battle it out for the coveted Championship.

The four-time defending champions, The Jacksonville Giants, received a bye in the playoffs.

The teams come from all over the United States: California, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland and New York. Over 120 teams began the season with the hopes of claiming the top spot in the league.

The wildcard games will be held on Monday night, April 2nd. The Championship game will be Saturday night, April 7th. All games will be at the Lehman Gym, 1700 Lehman Rd, Kyle, TX.

The American Basketball Associations Elite 8 is being hosted by the ABA Austin Bats and produced by their franchise owner Leticia Luna.

The ABA is a fast moving, high scoring league. The three-point shot and slam dunk competitions originated in the league. NBA teams that started in the ABA include the San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets, and Brooklyn Nets (formerly in New Jersey).

NBA All-Stars that played in the ABA include Julius “Dr. J” Irving, Artis Gilmore, Christian Laettner, George “Iceman” Gervin, Ricky Barry and Moses Malone.

The American Basketball Association (ABA) is a men’s professional basketball league. The ABA was established in 1967 and merged with the National Basketball Association.

The ABA was relaunched in 1999 by Joe Newman and Richard P. Tinkham. Tinkham co-founded both the original ABA and the Indiana Pacers.
