The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in December 2020 across 8 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest-growing rents.

The Texas one-bedroom median rent was $949 last month.

The Most Expensive

Austin was the most expensive city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,230.

Georgetown saw rent drop 1.7% to $1,140 and rank as the second priciest.

Cedar Park was third with rent at $1,120.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $920.

Round Rock was second with rent at $1,040.

Pflugerville ranked as the third least expensive with rent at $1,060.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Kyle had the fastest-growing rent, up 7.9% since this time last year.

Georgetown saw rent climb 7.5%, making it second.

Round Rock was third with rent increasing 4.0%.
